Application Developer

Broad Duties Outline:

-Maintain and develop DataCash applications
-Create New DataCash Applications
-Modify and/or add new functionality to existing DataCash applications
-General Administration and ad hoc development requests


This will include but not limited to tasks as follows:

-Review requirements documentation
-Perform/Assist with technical analysis/design
-Create/Assist in creating Technical Specification documentation
-Produce/extend application documentation
-Develop codes for applications
-Create Development Test documentation
-Developer testing of codes. Includes unit/integrated and load/stress testing (where applicable)
-Handover application changes to UAT/Business
-Assist/manage application deployment
-Post live testing
-Throughout development lifecycle adherence to Datacash application development methodology
-Attendance of meetings
-Create Progress reports
-Ticket updates tracked/updated in RightNow/TFS
-Following of DataCash Application Development Lifecycle processes
-Work hours logged in SharePoint
-Queries and investigation
-Efficient ,courteous and helpful manner
-Professional , appropriate appearance
-Taking action to address customer reqests


Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

-Technical skills
-Windows development using MS .NET language. Preferably C# or VB .NET. Knowledge of Java and/or VB 6 an advantage.
-Exposure to MS SQL Server or equivalent RDBMS
-Development of applications making use of Structured Query Language
-Exposure to Systems analysis and design work


Level of Numeracy:

High Level of Numeracy


Level of Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills


Level of Formal Professional Education or Training:

12 years formal schooling, Formal Training in Development – REQUIRED
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science and or Business Systems as a Major


Level of Experience in Job Advertised:

6 years of Development Experience
