| PHARMACEUTICAL MANAGER (Merchandise & Procurement) PHARMACEUTICAL MANAGER PROCUREMENT AND MERCHANDISE MANAGEMENT Permanently and Based in Cape Town R700k- Negotiable Job Purpose: To develop, implement, drive and maintain the strategy for the private label procurement of new schedule 0-6 dossiers Job Objectives: • Identify opportunities for new schedule 0-6 dossiers through the investigation, analysis and review of the usage/movement of active ingredients among the organisation, franchisees, hospital + Direct Medicines. • Derive a business case per dossier by conducting feasibility and business analysis, making projections(based on pack sizes, price, profitability, customer benefits) and liaison with logistics partner + manufacturers. • Drive the optimal sourcing of dossiers, both locally and internationally, thru the evaluation of the availability to purchase of existing, new and "by-the-way" dossiers. • Negotiate prices and exclusivity of dossiers to drive the registration of new dossiers by liaising with UPD regarding administrative and regulatory aspects. • Plan, negotiate and contract the price, quantities and delivery dates of all manufactured new products with identified manufacturing houses. • Develop, drive and implement the effective launch, marketing and sales strategies of all newly registered products, which include the implementation of SOP’s • Conduct an ongoing review of packaging and design of all products to enable maximum prescribing and utilisation. • Develop and maintain sound relationships with all internal and external key stakeholders who are involved in the identification sourcing and registration of new dossiers. Experience and Education: • B. Pharm Degree (a definite advantage) • Tertiary qualification in business management with sales and marketing focus (essential) • Qualified pharmacist registered with SAPC (a definite advantage) Job related knowledge and skills: • 4-6 years pharmacy procurement and merchandise management experience gained within RSA retail • 5 years sound knowledge of South African health industry and extensive health and/or pharmacy product knowledge • 3 years previous exposure in and knowledge of retail pharmacy environment; and pharmacy procurement knowledge with focus on medicinal purchasing • 3 years pharmacy business process management and pharmacy supply chain management • 2 years financial management experience Competencies required: Skilled trader with excellent negotiation skills / Strong analytical and numerical skills / Strategic ability to identify trends and opportunities / Proactive and assertive communication skills / Sound planning and implementation skills / Strong it and business systems skills | |
