Enterprise Application Integration Architect

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To architect, deliver and manage efficient, cost effective application integration processes and solutions.

JOB OBJECTIVES
•To take responsibility for the business analysis, architecture, delivery and technical management of application integration solutions.
•To investigate best practice trends and new and emerging technologies relating to enterprise application integration.
•To contribute to the Application Architecture Strategy.

TASK INFORMATION
To take responsible for the business analysis, architecture and delivery of application integration solutions.
•Understand the current business environment and identify the business /customer/employee integration requirements.
•Facilitate working sessions across multiple departments/divisions to extract and develop integration requirement specifications.
•Analyze and architect suitable IT integration solutions, using appropriate modeling techniques and methodologies, to address the business requirements.
•Technical lead for application integration projects.
•Manage business to business integration solutions.
•Manage relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
To investigate best practice trends and new and emerging technologies relating to enterprise application integration.
•Stay abreast of architecture best practices and / or new developments and drive adoption as deemed appropriate.
•Provide subject matter expertise, guidance and architectural oversight during the detailed design, build, test and deploy phases.
•Define architecture quality compliance criteria and enforce them through performing quality assurance checks.
To contribute to the Application Architecture Strategy.
•Contribution application integration architecture subject matter expertise and guidance to the Application Strategy Team.

JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE


Working experience within the IT industry 5-10 years (Essential)

Identification and formulation of Integration Architecture and integration solution alternatives and their assessment 5+ years (Essential)

Business analysis 3+ years (Essential)

Technology selection and design configuration (SOA, EAI, BPM, Messaging, B2B, B2C, etc.). 2-3 years (Essential)


Experience with current research and standards in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Middleware Architecture. 2-3 years (Essential)

Experience in high volume data and files processing, in a batch and real time, integration environment. 3+ years (Essential)

Experience with all aspects of IT projects from architectures, system analysis and design through development, testing, implementation, and production (SDLC). 5+ years (Essential)

Broad project management experience of mid-sized projects. 2-3 years (Essential)

Retail industry experience with an understanding of retail business processes would be advantageous.


FORMAL QUALIFICATION

Degree in Information Systems / Bsc Computer Science (similar) (Essential)

Data mapping and transformation technologies (XML, XSD, XSLT/XPath) (Essential)

Various integration tools suites (Essential)

Software Engineering methodologies (OOA/OOD, RUP, UML), IT security, data interchange formats and protocols, data management techniques (Essential)
