Financial Accountant

This role is fully responsible for the full finance function of this thriving and growing retail and manufacturing family business, leaders in the premium Halaal Meat industry.

Key Responsibilities
 Preparation of monthly management accounts
o Preparation of financial statements by company
o Accurate financial reporting
o Consolidated reporting
o Ensure full compliance with legislation, accounting standards and company policies and procedures
o Liaison with auditors

 Implementation of systems and processes for accurate
o Stock control
o Measures of staff productivity
o Measurements of shrinkage and waste
o Cost Management

 Preparation of statutory returns
o VAT
o Levies
o Paye
o Other statutory requirements
o TAX preparation

 Cashflow Management and Planning
o Daily cash management
o Supervise all cash, credit card processes
o Cash Voucher management

 Budgeting and Forecasting
o Preparation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasting
o Business acumen; business advisory services; cost efficiencies; business improvements

 Sales Reporting
o Report design from POS system
o Preparation and interpretation of various monthly reports
o Profitability reporting

 Product Costing in manufacturing process
o Per product, by category, per unit
o Ensure accurate costing, markup and margins are achieved
o Advise management of cost drivers and profit opportunities

 Staff supervision
o Admin Manager / payroll / debtors
o Administrator
o Creditors

Role Requirements
 At least 5 years of relevant experience in retail or medium sized business as an accounting professional
 B Com with completed articles an advantage
 Experience with full function financial accounting
 Staff management
 Product Costing
 Business Advisory services
 Experience with Pastal accounting package V9 and Microsoft Office V7
